How To Use Balmonds Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil

You may already know Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil as a great way to remove makeup and cleanse skin at the end of the day, but did you know that it’s a great product in other ways too?

Getting the most out of your Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil
  • Free-from Essential Oils
One of the special things about our cleansing oil is that it’s made without essential oils. Most massage or body oils include essential oils - our own Bath & Body Oil and Chamomile Baby Oil do - but this can pose a problem for those whose skin is extra sensitive to them. If you’ve been looking for a gentle, fragrance-free oil as a massage, bath or body oil, then this is the one for you.

  • Great As A Neutral Base Oil
Our cleansing oil is a really great option if you’re not avoiding essential oils but want a light, unfragranced base oil to add your own fragrances to. It’s already full of nutritious rosehip and calendula, so it is a useful oil for gently rubbing into stretch marks and as a pregnancy massage oil, but you can zjoosh it up with all kinds of gorgeous essential oils if you like! How about using it to make up a great labour massage oil with clary sage and neroli?

  • Low Comedogenic Formula
The oils we use - sunflower, safflower, rosehip, calendula - are light and non-clogging, meaning that they are much more useful to those prone to acne or blocked pores, on face or body.
Directions for use as a cleansing oil

Tip a small amount of oil - about the size of a fifty pence piece – into your palm. Massage carefully into your face, very gently working it into the areas around the eyes to loosen make-up. Can be left on for a couple of minutes if desired. Remove with either a warm, wet washcloth or warm, damp cotton wool.

Be careful not to use on exposed skin in very bright, very hot sunshine as this all-natural product does not have an SPF and there might be a risk of burning due to the high oil content. In those circumstances, it’s best to apply the oil in the evening and leave to work overnight.

Patch test first!

As with any new skincare product we always advise that you patch test a tiny amount of the oil behind the ear or in the crook of your elbow for at least 24 hours before widespread use. Please visit our Patch Test page for more information.
